Efficiency Frameworks in Medical Education
After a detailed Needs Analysis process that highlighted extreme inefficiencies in resident physicians using an electronic health record (EHR), I worked closely to apply evidence-based frameworks into a virtual orientation module. This module actually utilizes microlearning and scenario-based learning to allow learners to apply their knowledge they gain at the beginning of the module in a simulated EHR. This module is the first of 3 modules that looks to create efficiency in the admission and management process of patients.
This module looks to move into the deeper stages of the Kirkpatrick Model. By tying EHR admission metrics to each resident, the program can actually measure an educational ROI and the drag-and-drop nature allows the module to adapt with each update of the EHR.

Articulate Storyline 3
Canvas LMS (Managed end-to-end stand up and maintenance of the LMS for the program)
Audacity (Voiceover and video editing)
Stakeholder Management
SME Management
Key Outcomes
Decrease in time-to-proficiency for residents in remediation for note-writing.
Decrease in dedicated faculty time for development of residents.
Decrease in diagnoses and billing areas due to lack of proper notation.
Course Goals
Decrease time-to-proficiency for residents in remediation for note-writing, specifically H&P.
Decrease dedicated faculty time needed for resident development in note writing.
Increase quality of feedback for residents by providing structured learning opportunities in note writing.
Learning Objectives
Define best practices for utilizing the EHR as a new medical intern.
Apply efficiency frameworks to a history and physical exam (H&P) when writing a note in the EHR.
